For nearly 50 years, the East and West courses at Foxfire have hosted thousands of golfers from all over the world.  There was a time in the late 1970′s when Foxfire East and West were considered the best conditioned courses in the Pinehurst area – ahead of such venerable layouts as Pinehurst #2 and Pine Needles!

The rolling hills, soft sandy soils, and plentiful lakes enabled Hall of Fame architect Gene Hamm to design 36 beautiful holes.  A traditional layout where most of the trouble is in plain sight provides a playable challenge for all skill levels.  Both the East and West courses greet golfers with green fairways year round, strategically located bunkers and towering long leaf pines.

The East Course is an example of Hamm’s flair for the classic traditional layout.  The designrelies on the natural contours of the land and challenges players of all skill levels with tree-lined fairways and generous greens.  From the challenge of a tough Par 5 starting hole to the final approach shot along side Lake Mackenzie at the signature 18th, you’ll be rewarded by the natural beauty and great conditions of the East Course at Foxfire.

The West Course at Foxfire offers traditional golf at its best.  You’ll fall in love with the character of the course as it blends with immaculate conditioning.  The West Course is distinguished by its challenging par 3s, which highlight the course’s natural beauty.  Both the West and East Courses were totally renovated in 1998-99 through a multi-million dollar redo.
